Inky Johnson will serve as the keynote speaker for the Lifelong Learning Academy Luncheon where commissioners will be recognized for completing certification requirements in the Lifelong Learning Academy, ACCG’s education and training program. Johnson, known for his time as a University of Tennessee Volunteer, is not your ordinary motivational speaker. In fact, he inspires listeners with his Inkspirations as he uses his life journey as an example of what it means to overcome any and all limitations.

Keni Thomas Offers Leadership Lessons for Public Servants during the Opening General Session

Keni Thomas will help open the conference on Saturday with his keynote address to county officials. Thomas is a former U.S. Army Ranger who was a member of the special operations team that led the Battle of Mogadishu, also known as Black Hawk Down. Thomas is known for captivating audiences with his incredible story of how his team worked together to bring each other home while completing their overall mission.

There is no better opportunity to network with your colleagues from across the state than at the ACCG Annual Conference.  The following events allow county officials the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of Chatham County while engaging in fellowship.

Saturday Night Event

Saturday, April 29

Festivities Begin at 5:30 p.m.

The all-time favorite Saturday night event returns with the oyster roast and a dinner and dance. The oyster roast and reception will take place on the Trade Center Esplanade before commissioners head into the Chatham Ballroom for the dinner and dance. Join other conference attendees for a festive evening featuring live entertainment and a festival of foods.

President’s Reception

Sunday, April 30

5:00 p.m.

Join us as we enjoy an evening reception at Rousaki’s Riverfront Plaza for the final evening of the conference. Enjoy the beautiful view of the Savannah River and the historic sites of downtown as the 2017 Annual Conference comes to a close.
